Dear You:
I feel like I am you. The month’s of our birth are right next to each other, only because you are September and me, August we are the same, we are very different but very much the same. I started reading Sisters Of The Yam because my beautiful oldest daughter told me she had read some of it and I should read it, she found it so much like me, her mom. We talk all the time about how I wanna be a writer and how I love to read and we discuss so much about ourselves as black people, black women, she as my daughter and how she is dealing with all that she encounters in her life. I am so glad she is what I like to call enlightened, she calls me a genius. I have another daughter and she is just as beautiful and talkative and still rather raw around the edges at what life offers us.
I just really want to say that everything I have read since the first thing I read that you wrote has mirrored me I feel you are me, or I am you or somehow we are the same people of course details are not exactly the same but even a website listed in Wikipedia in your profile at the bottom with external inks listed is nearly the same as the name I chose for my first website in my web design class, “allaboutlove” was the name of the site for my final project.
I believe in the ancestors too, that they are with us and they push us to be who we are and they are important to know about and I even thought when I write I want to write using a pseudonym, before I even knew that bell hooks was yours, maybe we are here on the same mission, could it be. It is as if every ten years a new one is sent into the world to usher in the rest who want to come along and when I think about the stories of Moses and then Jesus, and you and me I get all lifted.
It is so overwhelming. I am writing this now like I can’t stop until I get it all out.
I know you understand what I mean. I am so determined, and honestly not very afraid, after all I have not much more to be afraid of I want to try everything there is that I can To help myself be what I wanna in this world, a writer, and you have done that I have taught math to children 3rd to 12th grade, I have returned to college and worked full-time and completed an AA then a BS and have worked in many jobs, but I have not ever been fulfilled and I have never been able to shake the words of a college creative writing teacher who told me that I have a flair for writing. It haunts and I have always written things down, I have a diary from middle school and I remember writing things down much earlier in my life and I have poems too.
You... I swear are me or I am you, I wanna try this writing thing more than ever in my life now, right now, and I write a lot now, and I need a job to pay my bills and I still write like I am doing now sometimes it floods the mind , body and soul and I get to going and I don’t even punctuate or anything:>) I just go like I am doing now , I don’t even know if you will read this or if you will throw it out, but I know I am you or you are me. If you do read this and you get this far into it and you decide that you wanna contact me and help me along the way call 404-916-9368 or email getonboardga@gmail.com
Thank you for you!

War On Poverty
Why do politicians and people in government talk about middle class so much, and they never seem to mention the poor.
I've heard them say something about a war on poverty.
In this war, scarcity, shortage, deficiency, lack, dearth, paucity and poor quality, all synonyms for the word poverty, are the enemy.
Now it seems to me if we want to really win this war we attack each element of it with its nemesis, or its antonym, there fore eliminating its existence, wiping it out once and for all, considering we have the means to do that.
Let’s see, Scarcity needs to be replaced with abundance, this is going to be a little different for each person in poverty, because what might be scarce for one may not be the same for another.
Shortage would need to be replaced by excess, now people will probably argue that these two can be combined because scarcity and shortage are the same as well as abundance and excess, not exactly, abundance is: profusion, loads, wealth, plenty and excess is: glut, surplus, overkill, overindulgence, see the difference.
Now here again, we have sort of the same thing as scarcity and shortage, Deficiency, which is closely related to lack, shortage, paucity, dearth and scarcity also means deficit, insufficiency or absence, which is going to need to be replaced by abundance.
Next, Lack, has to be replaced with have because to lack is to: not have; be short of; be deficient in; to need; to require. We need to go in and find any excess to get rid of lack.
Then there is Dearth, which is lack, shortage, scarcity and deficiency; absence, drought, famine and want are in there too. Here is where both, abundance and excess would cure all of that.
Paucity involves, dearth, scarcity, lack, in a way of rareness, scantiness and small number of, it will be no more with abundance and excess.
And last but no at all least, poor quality, okay lets look at each word separately, poor: deprived, unfortunate, underprivileged, meager, reduced, pitiable, broke, its antonym is privileged.
Now we are getting to the bottom of this, let’s look at quality: excellence, superiority, class, eminence, value, worth, feature and its antonym is inferiority, but aren't we all created equal? Apparently those with abundance and excess have taken more than their share. Off with their heads!

Hip Hop
Hip Hop isn't dead is it? It is a platform for healing and empowering our community. It was not meant to hurt the people, but wake them up so to speak. It was effective in a dynamic way. Everything and everyone used it for their own. Some abused it for selfish gain and we know who they are. If not they are the same ones who wanted to colonize the world. They even had representatives from the community say Hip Hop was wrong and should be stopped. These people actually sounded just like they may have been the descendants of those people that said, "Just do as you are told , don't rock the boat, stay in your place!"
Fear is a mother fucker, but afraid of your own. It was quite remarkable how women came out talking about how the women were exploited by Hip-Hop, but did not want to talk about what brought on this entire phenomenon in the first place! Should I say it, Slavery, perpetual and never ending just like the music we create to reflect it

Oscar Wilde's "Life imitates art.."
Before TV, movies and things to watch, visual stimulation, perception, patterning or... I'm not sure what to call it,there was reading.
I personally, I NEED TO READ, I FEEL EMPTY OTHERWISE.
There is a difference between reading and watching. The two are two different things!
Should we be choosing between reading and watching?
Will one be the sure death of the other?
Are we limiting ourselves by not doing one or the other?
Some say it is easier to watch, less demanding on the person?
Some say they hate reading, hate reading?
HERE'S SOMETHING I FOUND TO READ FROM THE WONDERFUL MR. WILDE
